Washington, Paris call for holding Azerbaijan accountable for the  trial of Armenians

ArmInfo. It is time for the State Department to hold the Azerbaijani regime accountable for its  human rights violations. American Congressman Adam Schiff wrote in his Twitter microblog (X).

He recalled that in Azerbaijan, Armenian political prisoners are  currently standing trial in closed-door proceedings. "No due process.  No press allowed. It is time for StateDept to hold the Azerbi regime  accountable for its human rights violations," Schiff noted.

The situation was also commented on by journalist Jean-Christophe  Buisson, the deputy director of the authoritative French magazine Le  Figaro, on Twitter , who noted that an unfair trial of the former  State Minister of Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh, Ruben Vardanyan, will  begin in the Baku Military Court in Azerbaijan on Monday, January 27,  after the first session was postponed.

"Probably, neither NGOs, nor journalists, nor foreign diplomats will  be able to attend," the journalist noted.  He also added that,  Aliyev, not satisfied with the Azerbaijani flag waving over the  Armenian lands of Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh, is now hanging the bloody  flag of Azerbaijan on French soil, in Noumea!

At the same time, he called on the French Foreign Minister to fight  this Azerbaijani interference. "This interference must be fought in a  different way than simply with one insulted tweet by Mr. Jean-Noel  Barrot," Buisson wrote.
