ArmInfo. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), despite the statement of the Foreign Intelligence Service (FIS) of Armenia, still considers the republic its ally. This was reported to TASS by a source in the organization.
Earlier, the FIS of Armenia considered it unlikely in its report that in 2025 the grounds for freezing Yerevan's participation in the CSTO, which it agreed to in 2024, will disappear.
"Yes, the Secretariat of the organization is aware of this statement by the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Republic of Armenia. However, we still consider Armenia an ally and continue to interact with Yerevan in working mode," the agency's interlocutor noted.
Last February Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in an interview with France24 that the collective security treaty with respect to Armenia had not been fulfilled, and the republic had frozen its participation in the CSTO. Later, he did not rule out leaving the Organization altogether. Yerevan has stopped paying membership fees to the Organization and does not participate in any CSTO events.
