ArmInfo. Baku once again expressed dissatisfaction with the activities of the EU civilian observer mission on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
During a meeting held yesterday in Baku with a delegation led by the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Magdalena Grono, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov stated that the activities of the EU mission in Armenia and the arming of this country with the financial support of the European Peace Fund do not serve this peace, but on the contrary, such actions strengthen revanchist sentiments towards Azerbaijan.
Mammadov briefed the EU representative on the situation in the region, the current stage of negotiations on the draft peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the progress achieved in the bilateral format>. "Possible EU support in clarifying the fate of Azerbaijanis missing during the Armenian- Azerbaijani conflict, demining mined areas and restoring regional ties was discussed," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a statement, as quoted by local media.
Grono had previously met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
