ArmInfo. The Republic of Armenia is seeing an increase in the number of acute respiratory infections, in particular hospitalizations with acute respiratory viral infections and pneumonia, as well as ambulance calls. This was reported by the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the RA Ministry of Health.
As the source notes, according to the results of laboratory tests, the influenza virus type A subtype H1pdm09 continues to circulate in the republic. During the New Year holidays, favorable conditions are created for the spread of influenza, especially in crowded places, since the infection is spread by airborne droplets.
The Ministry of Health once again calls for avoiding contact with patients with symptoms typical of acute respiratory infection. "If you are sick, stay home, wear a mask in crowded places, call your local pediatrician, general practitioner or family doctor and do not self-medicate. Do not use antibiotics, as they are not intended to treat the flu, dress for the weather, observe cough and sneeze etiquette, drink as much fluid as possible, frequently ventilate closed spaces, and maintain personal hygiene," the Center said in a statement.
