ArmInfo.. The supervising prosecutor changed the charges against former Stepanakert mayor David Sargsyan. Lawyer Ruben Melikyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.
According to him, the absurd charge of "aggravated fraud" was replaced with the equally absurd charge of "arbitrariness," which is classified as a less serious crime. However, the lawyer noted, the preventive measure against David Sargsyan in the form of administrative supervision (prohibition on leaving home from 19:00 to 07:00) has not changed. "I call it half house arrest. For this reason, it is absolutely clear to us that we are not dealing with a violation, but with a restriction aimed at punishment and causing harm. The case will be sent to court very soon, and we will talk about this case in more detail in early January," Melikyan noted.
David Sargsyan was detained on May 25, and two days later the court arrested him on charges of fraud and forgery of documents. On June 13, the court placed Sargsyan under house arrest for two months. On July 19, the court applied administrative supervision to the former mayor of Stepanakert.
