ArmInfo. The offices of the first, second and third presidents of Armenia responded to the call of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to hold a live debate on the negotiation process around the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Thus, the press secretary of the first president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Arman Musaelyan, reacting to the call of the Armenian prime minister, noted on his Facebook page that it would be extremely useful for the Armenian state and society for Nikol Pashinyan to first hold a debate with Nikol Pashinyan.
"As a result, I am sure that both sides of the debate will justly justify each other's lies. Moreover, the debate between Nikol Pashinyan and Nikol Pashinyan will be extremely useful not only on the Karabakh issue, but also on any other topic of public concern.
Amulsar, monopoly of banks, party management of universities, politicization of ambassadorial appointments, patronage of state/political officials and embezzlement of the state budget through various tenders, patronage, destruction of the independence of the judiciary and dismissal of senior judicial officials through SMS messages, use of law enforcement agencies as a baton against political opponents, etc. The result will be the same again," Musaelyan added.
In turn, the head of the office of the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, Bagrat Mikoyan, reacting to Pashinyan's invitation, noted that Kocharyan has not read the prime minister's meaningless posts on Facebook for a long time, but he himself is forced to do so due to the nature of his work. Mikoyan then noted that a controversial topic is needed for debate.
"And the fact that the surrender of the sovereign territories of Artsakh and Armenia is the personal "merit" of the current prime minister is an indisputable historical fact and obvious to all adequate people," the representative of the office of the second president of Armenia continued.
At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that in 2018-2024, all power in Armenia belonged to one person, and this person bears full responsibility for all events. "One person said that he was negotiating from his zero point, and he would negotiate on what he considered necessary, and this person is the current prime minister. Of course, no one will discuss serious topics with comic characters on TikTok. I am already silent about the existing, hiding behind thousands of police officers and bodyguards. The multi-layered walls of bunkers and shelters will speak more eloquently about this," Mikoyan added.
And in the office of the third president of Armenia, when Pastinfo asked whether the issue of participation in the debates was being considered, they noted that it was pointless to argue about the obvious, especially since the entire history of the negotiation process for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was presented publicly and in detail a thousand times, both before and after the seizure of power.
"Especially since the ruler of Armenia did everything to fail the negotiation process. If he really wants to hold debates, we recommend that he hold them with the presidents of the co-chair countries: the Russian Federation, the United States and France, who in the period from 2009 to 2013 five times declared the format of the negotiations and the principles on which the Nagorno-Karabakh issue was to be resolved.
It would not hurt to hear confessions from his "educated and constructive" colleague from time to time, both for 2016 and for the post-war period," the office of the third president of the Republic noted.
On the morning of December 23, the Prime Minister of Armenia made a statement in which he again asserted that since 1994, negotiations on the Karabakh conflict were conducted around the process of surrendering Artsakh to Azerbaijan. These statements by the Armenian Prime Minister were harshly reacted to in the offices of the presidents of the Republic of Armenia, where the negotiation process was taking place. In response to the criticism, Pashinyan invited the presidents to a public debate on this issue.
