ArmInfo. Armenia has sent new proposals to Azerbaijan regarding the draft peace treaty, but given the lack of reaction from Baku, there is no need to disclose the initiatives of the Armenian side. Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan told journalists on December 18.
According to him, the issue of the so-called Zangezur Corridor is beyond discussion. "We have repeated many times that there are "red" lines, which are simply impossible to cross. I do not want even to discuss or use this term. This simply will not happen. And if this issue is constantly raised by Baku and Ankara, then we continuously repeat that the Republic of Armenia wants and is ready to unblock the transportation and economic ties of the region under very simple, yet very dogmatic rules: under Armenia's sovereignty and jurisdiction," the Deputy Prime Minister said. Speaking about the next meeting of representatives of the border delimitation commissions, Mher Grigoryan noted that a date hasn't been agreed upon yet. "But I think that the meeting will take place in the near future, because there was an agreement that we should meet and continue the work once the regulation is in effect," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
When asked if Armenia is ready to submit proposals for the liberation of the territories seized by Azerbaijan, Mher Grigoryan noted that after each meeting of the commission representatives, official statements are issued presenting the results as objectively as possible. "We have agreed with the Azerbaijani side that both parties will refrain from making comments beyond the joint statements"
