ArmInfo. In Armenia, they note the importance of the US Embassy's participation in the reforms being implemented in the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic. This was discussed at a meeting between the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Armen Mkrtchyan and the attache of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Armenia and Georgia Alexander Tiguin and the investigator of the Foreign Criminal Investigation Division of the Diplomatic Security Service of the US Department of State Tigran Petrosyan.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, having congratulated Armen Mkrtchyan on assuming the responsible position, Alexander Tiguin expressed confidence that the existing warm and effective cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the US Department of Justice, as well as the US Embassy in Armenia will be expanded.
Armen Mkrtchyan pointed out the importance of the US Embassy's participation in the reforms being implemented in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Deputy Minister also thanked the previous Legal Attache Heather Bergey for the close cooperation between the Ministry and the US FBI. The Deputy Minister noted the effectiveness of the training courses organized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Armenia, the measures to identify wanted persons and improve the professional knowledge of employees involved in the field of cybersecurity. He also presented to Alexander Tiguin the ongoing reforms in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in particular, the process of creating a criminal police, emphasizing the need to deepen cooperation in the areas of drug trafficking, cybercrime, money laundering and illegal migration.
