ArmInfo. Clouds are gathering over Armenia. According to reliable sources, Azerbaijani forces are building up their armaments on the border with Armenia. This opinion is shared by Doctor of Political Science at Stanford University in the USA, member of the initiative group of the Mother Armenia movement Artur Khachikyan.
According to him, flights with military cargo from Israel to Azerbaijan continue. "The Turkish command, after the lightning capture of Syria, openly says that the next stage is the Zangezur corridor. The leadership of Azerbaijan orders this regime to officially negotiate with Western Azerbaijan, that is, to admit that Armenia is not a state. This regime admits that it is ready to give in on this issue as well, and refuses to say what it is negotiating about. "We do what we want." The "leader" is busy with photo sessions, reality shows, cooking eggs, and riding a bicycle in tights," the expert added.
At the same time, the political scientist drew attention to the fact that the "opposition" and village Napoleons are once again preparing to fail the protest movement, shout meaningless slogans, stroke their "egos" and help the regime stay in power. "The people are in despair, buying food for the New Year. Armenian society has come to the brink of the abyss, perhaps for the last time," Khachikyan is sure.
At the same time, the expert emphasized that the lightning strike on Syria was carried out by an alliance of Turkey, Israel, the United States and, possibly, Ukraine. "Turkey won a huge victory and spread its influence. Israel defeated the enemy regimes that supported Hezbollah, Syria and Iran. The United States dealt a blow to Russian and Iranian influence and forced the withdrawal of Russian military bases. The same alliance will operate in the Caucasus: the United States, Israel, Turkey and Azerbaijan against Iran and Russia. Armenia is isolated," Khachikyan believes.
He then commented sarcastically on the greetings of Western leaders to those who seized power in Syria. "Welcome to Magical Haircuts. You can be a terrorist, a member of Al-Qaeda, you can blow up the World Trade Center in New York and kill 3,000 people, and the American government can offer $10,000 to catch you... We will cut your hair, shave your beard, apply deodorant, curl your hair, and you will become a fighter for democracy and an ally of the democratic West," the political scientist added.
At the same time, Khachikyan is sure that, based on the history of Iraq after Saddam or Libya after Gaddafi, there are several risks in Syria after Assad. In his opinion, firstly, one of the first conflicts will break out between Turkey and its armed groups and the Kurds supported by the Americans, and the latter will sell out the Kurds, as happened several years ago.
Secondly, Khachikyan believes that there is a high risk of fighting between several groups within the "democratic forces," many of which are terrorist. "Thirdly, there is a risk of terrorism spreading in Syria and other countries, as was the case with the emergence of Al-Qaeda and ISIS in Iraq after the assassination of Saddam Hussein. Unfortunately, when countries are not ready for "liberal democracy," especially when it is represented by terrorists, the removal of dictators leads to even worse consequences than before. Terrorism, jihadist groups, civil war will likely engulf Syria and neighboring states," Khachikyan concluded.
