ICRC visits Armenian detainees in Baku

ArmInfo. In December 2024, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross  (ICRC) made another visit to persons of Armenian descent, notified by  the Azerbaijani side and being held captive by Azerbaijani  authorities.  According to Ilaha Huseynov, head of the public  relations department of the ICRC office in Azerbaijan, " the  detainees were met in private and were given a possibility to contact  their families." "In accordance with its mandate, the ICRC, during  visits, assesses the treatment and condition of detainees,  and  creates an opportunity to restore or continue contact with their  families. In line with ICRC procedures, observations and  recommendations related to visits are provided exclusively by the  detaining party," Huseynova said in a statement, as reported by APA.
