ArmInfo. At a plenary session on December 4, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia approved the country's transition to electronic labor contracts, making corresponding amendments to the Labor Code.
According to Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ruben Sargsyan, the transition is planned to be implemented in stages - from January 1, 2025 on a voluntary basis and from January 1, 2026 - on a mandatory basis. It is planned that the employer will conclude contracts with employees exclusively electronically using an electronic signature.
The electronic system will have to be developed by the State Revenue Committee, and the tax inspectorate, the Health and Labor Inspectorate, and the Migration Service will have access to it. In this context, Armenia may become the first country to fully implement this system.
