Armenia`s Constitutional Court declines to consider funded pensions  for Nagorno-Karabakh residents

ArmInfo.The Constitutional Court of Armenia has refused to consider the issue of funded pensions  for residents of Nagorno-Karabakh. Artsakh Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan shared this information on his Facebook page.

Earlier, at his request, a number of deputies from  opposition  factions of the National Assembly appealed to the Constitutional  Court regarding the issue of funds in the pension accounts of  internally displaced from Karabakh. The required number of deputy  signatures (1/5 of the total number) was collected for the appeal to  the Constitutional Court. The plan was to challenge the amendment  passed by parliament in the law in June 2024,  which automatically  transfers the savings of Artsakh residents to the funded pension  system of the Republic of Armenia without taking into account their  opinion,. The appeal to the court focuses on whether these  legislative changes comply with the right to property.
