ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will not attend the CSTO summit to be held in Astana on November 28.
, the Prime Minister's press secretary Nazeli Baghdasaryan told the media.
Armenia is boycotting events held within the framework of the CSTO. In February 2024, Pashinyan said that Armenia had practically frozen its participation in the CSTO, since the CSTO had not fulfilled its obligations to the Republic of Armenia, which could not remain without consequences.
On September 18, at the Second World Armenian Summit, Pashinyan stated that the CSTO poses threats to Armenia's security, its continued existence, sovereignty and statehood. "We will fully restore our activities in the CSTO only if specific answers are given to the questions we have posed: < >: Until these answers are voiced, the Republic of Armenia will move further and further away from the CSTO with every minute and every second. There is an expression: , and if we have not passed it, then there is a high probability that if this situation continues, we will cross this point. No one will have a legitimate reason or pretext to accuse us of this," Pashinyan concluded.
Meanwhile, on November 26, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, noting that Armenia will not participate in the November CSTO summit in Astana, stated that Moscow does not question Yerevan's right to independently determine the course of further work within the organization. "The doors are open for Armenia's physical return to the work of the CSTO. We hope that Armenian representatives will sooner or later resume cooperation within this organization," the presidential aide emphasized.
