ArmInfo. Tensions are escalating around the entire border of Armenia's Syunik region. Orientalist Sergey Melkonyan expressed a similar opinion on his Telegram channel, noting that Azerbaijan is strengthening the grouping of troops in Nakhichevan. The expert noted that between November 10 and14, Azerbaijan conducted five flights carrying weapons and military equipment to Nakhichevan. The orientalist explained that the planes were flying between Ganja and Nakhichevan, indicating that all the weapons were being transferred directly to Nakhichevan. Melkonyan pointed out that the planes flying along the Ganja-Nakhichevan route pass over the territory of Turkey, thus ensuring the safe transportation of weapons.
"Safe airspace is necessary for the transportation of weapons, even though this route is quite long and considered a "hook". Let me remind you that civilian planes from Nakhichevan to Baku fly directly through Armenia," the orientalist explained. At the same time, as Melkonyan noted, return flights along the Nakhichevan-Ganja route are carried out on a shorter path - through the airspace of Iran. "This means that they are unloaded and do not transport weapons and military equipment," Melkonyan concluded.
