ArmInfo. Armenia's stance on freezing participation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) remains changed. This was stated by the Armenian Foreign Ministry in response to a question from "Azatutyun".
Note that, as per the message from the Russian Foreign Ministry, Armenian Ambassador to the Russian Federation Gurgen Arsenyan, participated in a meeting of ambassadors and representatives from CSTO member states, held on Wednesday in Moscow at the initiative of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov attended the event. Armenia has previously announced a freeze on its participation in CSTO events and has declined to allocate its share of funding for the structure. It is not participating in joint military exercises and meetings, but has not yet officially initiated the process of withdrawing from the CSTO.
