ArmInfo. The Cassation Court of Armenia has accepted for consideration the complaint of the defense of former Defense Minister David Tonoyan in the criminal case initiated against the former official. This was reported by lawyer Andranik Manukyan on his Facebook account.
"I would like to inform you that the Cassation Court has accepted for special consideration the complaints of lawyers Lusine Sahakyan, Yervand Varosyan and myself in the case of David Tonoyan. In particular, in the cassation complaint that I submitted, I raised issues of uniform application of Part 7 of Article 483 of the Criminal Procedure Code and the legality of detention, which the Court considered in 2024, without touching on the legality of the arrests made earlier," the lawyer explained.
David Tonoyan is a defendant in a criminal case related to abuses in the process of supplying ammunition, including missiles. The head of the company supplying weapons to Armenia, David Galstyan, and former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Stepan Galstyan, are also charged in this case. The former minister was in custody from September 2021 to August 2024. He was released on bail of 15 million drams.
