ArmInfo. The first prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Luis Moreno Ocampo has called for not forgetting the ongoing human rights violations in Azerbaijan while participating in the UN Climate Conference (COP29), which started today in Baku.
"As leaders gather in Azerbaijan, remember the ongoing human rights violations and hostages. Climate talks should include justice for all. Tag participants, share the message, and stand up for what is right," Ocampo noted on his Twitter account (X), once again calling for the release of Armenian prisoners of war from Baku captivity and an end to the attempt to whitewash the genocide with the UN's green agenda. In turn, Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg has called for protests to be staged at the embassies of Turkey and Azerbaijan today, November 11. These countries are known to send oil to Israel.
Note that COP29 begins today in Baku, where leaders from several countries have gathered. Many state leaders, human rights organizations, and business representatives have chosen not to participate in this event, arguing that Azerbaijan is not aligned with the UN Climate Agenda. It is still unclear whether Armenia will participate in the event, as Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan stated today to Armenian media that a decision on this issue has not been made yet.
