ArmInfo. If I did not support the policy being pursued by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, I would not hold this position, as stated by Srbuhi Galyan, the newly appointed Minister of Justice, during a conversation with reporters on November 7.
In this regard, reporters reminded her that the current government has recognized Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, which resulted in thousands of casualties, war and territorial losses, including parts of Armenia. They asked if she was ready to take on her share of responsibility, Galyan noted that she had made her decision fully aware of all responsibilities. When asked if she agrees with the government's stance on Artsakh and the significance of recognizing Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, the minister responded that she fully supports the current Armenian prime minister's peace agenda ideology
"Our state has gone through difficult trials, and the problems we are currently dealing with were unforeseen. In this situation, I support the concept of "Real Armenia", where everyone, including myself, works towards creating a safe and peaceful environment in our country," Galyan added. When asked if she had familiarized herself with the draft peace treaty, considering the authorities' statements that the head the Ministry of Justice would play a crucial role in the signing process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Galyan replied negatively. She mentioned that it was her third day in the new role and it was physically impossible to do everything. "However, I have taken on the responsibility of providing legal support for these processes," Galyan added.
Additionally, the head of the Ministry of Justice evaded addressing the issue of Baku, allegedly leaking information about a clause regarding diplomatic and legal disputes with Armenia, which involves a decision not to pursue legal actions in international courts. "I fully support the ideology of "Real Armenia" and have taken on the responsibility of providing legal support throughout the process," the new Minister of Justice simply reiterated.
