Astana to host meeting of CSTO constituent bodies 

ArmInfo.CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov and Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor  Khrenin discussed the main areas of cooperation at the organization's site this year, as well as possible areas of further interaction at a meeting in Minsk.

As reported by the CSTO press service, the head of the Belarusian  defense department acquainted the CSTO Secretary General with the  current military-political situation in the Eastern European region  of collective security, and also informed about the position of the  Belarusian side on the agenda of the upcoming joint meeting of the  Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers, the  Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the CSTO member  states, which will be held on November 28, 2024 in Astana.

Speaking about the CSTO activities in the near future, the Minister  of Defense noted that the main attention of the Belarusian side will  be focused on the preparation and holding of joint exercises in the  format of the organization "Interaction-2025", "Search-2025",  "Echelon-2025" on the territory of Belarus in September 2025, and the  implementation of the provisions of the collective security strategy  for the period up to 2025.  At the end of the meeting, the parties  confirmed their readiness for further cooperation aimed at developing  the military component of the organization. It should be noted that  Armenia has not participated in the work of the CSTO structures for  the second year in a row.
