ArmInfo. Under the leadership of Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, the first meeting of the working group was held in the government. The group was established to coordinate the necessary commitments and actions of the RA government towards the liberalization of the visa regime with the EU, including the development and execution of the action plan for visa dialogue with the European Union.
As reported by the press service of the RA government, the meeting discussed the main measures that Armenia plans to implement to liberalize the visa regime with the EU. The functions of the agencies participating in the working group have been clarified by the Deputy Prime Minister's order. It was also highlighted that the discussions with the European Union in November 2024 are crucial for defining and developing an action plan to liberalize the visa regime in Armenia.
"The working group, which includes representatives from both the executive and legislative branches, will operate under the interdepartmental commission responsible for implementing the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement. The action plan currently being developed will consist of separate set of reforms outlined in the agreement, primarily focusing on the strategic agenda for modernizing the migration, internal security and border management sectors," the Armenian government reported.
