ArmInfo. Armenia will continue its participation in the regional platform "3+3". This was stated by Ararat Mirzoyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, during the government session in the National Assembly of Armenia on October 23, commenting on the results of the recent meeting of the MFA heads in Istanbul.
"The "3+3" platform is a consultative structure. We have repeatedly emphasized the importance we attach to developing relations with our neighbors. Yerevan aims to develop relations with neighbors with whom equal cooperation has been established, and to regulate relations with those neighbors with whom there are problems," the head of the RA MFA noted. He added that Yerevan has been participating in the platform's work since its inception.
Regarding the possibility of the platform becoming a venue for settling relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Minister clarified that such a proposal was not being considered in the negotiations. But even if it were the case, the Armenian side would not consider this proposal as appropriate, since there is an established format for negotiations between Yerevan and Baku. Another question is, the Minister continued, when the issue is discussed at various international venues, such as the UN, OSCE and others. The meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan under the "3+3" platform, where the text of the peace treaty was discussed, was no exception.
