ArmInfo.The Armenian police have detained eight members of the Armenian National Unity party, which is led by former SES head Mihran Poghosyan, according to a post on the party's social media page.
"On the previous day at 23:15, a group of civilians, accompanied by patrol police, stopped the car of party members, without providing any explanation. The deputy chairman Ararat Avetisyan, executive committee members Hayk Stepanyan (who had already been detained in August of this year - ed.), Armine Simonyan, and other members of the party's youth union, were taken to the Yerevan Shengavit police station against their will.
A total of eight party members, three of whom were girls, were detained. The current regime is once again using repressive methods to intimidate members of the Armenian Nationalist Party, restoring to force even against female members. None of the detained party members were allowed to contact a lawyer or their relatives," the statement said.
