ArmInfo The situation with non-combat casualties in the Armenian armed forces cannot but cause concern. This was stated on October 15 during parliamentary hearings dedicated to the crime situation in the country by Chairman of the RA National Assembly Committee on Defense and Security Andranik Kocharyan.According to him, the reasons for the losses are obvious to everyone, but in this case, measures aimed at preventing them are important.
"If the issue with the "overseers" in military units has been resolved, then the problem of suicides in the army continues to occur, which not only causes concern, but also requires urgent decisions, and this should become one of the priorities of our work," Kocharyan noted.
During the hearings, RA National Assembly deputy from the opposition "Armenia" faction Gegham Manukyan raised the issue of the need to invite the military prosecutor and the head of the military police to parliament to discuss the issue raised.
In response, Andranik Kocharyan assured that the issue would be discussed at one of the meetings of the National Assembly Committee on Defense and Security. Recall that on October 13, a message was received that the body of soldier Aghasi Dallakyan was found at his combat post, who, according to the preliminary version, committed suicide. Human rights activist Nazeli Movsesyan, responding to this death, stated that since the beginning of the year, 32 servicemen of the RA Armed Forces have died, and only 4 from enemy bullets.
