ArmInfo. Azerbaijan is actively developing cooperation with NATO. Political scientist Sergei Melkonyan holds a similar opinion.
To prove his words, the expert noted that in just four days of October of this year, Azerbaijan held two meetings with NATO representatives at a high level.
"On October 9, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan Veliyev met with the Director General of the NATO International Military Staff Adamchak. The following issues were discussed: military cooperation, military-educational and regional security. That is, NATO officers will continue to train the Azerbaijani military, and Baku itself will develop military cooperation with NATO.
Just four days ago, on October 5, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation to NATO Huseynzade held a meeting with representatives of the alliance. The parties discussed the prospects for the Azerbaijan-NATO partnership," he noted.
Melkonyan believes that given Baku's preparatory work, the increase in the number of flights with weapons from Israel and Turkey, and the growth of Azerbaijan's contacts with NATO with plans for military cooperation, it is necessary to more closely monitor the processes in the South Caucasus.
