ArmInfo. The "Sacred Struggle" movement is holding a rally in front of the building of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia.
Its participants have submitted reports to the supervisory authority about violations committed by officials of the country, in particular, by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, demanding that he be brought to criminal responsibility. The building of the Prosecutor General's Office itself is cordoned off by reinforced police units.
The representative of the movement, poet Khachik Manukyan, noted that for several years now, representatives of the ruling Civil Contract party in Armenia have been committing crimes of varying severity. "Now the time has come to transfer the issue to the legal field. It is very important to understand whether the country's law enforcement system will give action to these crimes or not. The people themselves are demanding an answer from the Prosecutor General's Office on this issue," Manukyan said, adding that the protest movement began with the demand of the parents of the fallen soldiers. However, as the protester emphasized, there are no special expectations from the supervisory body, since the head of the Prosecutor General's Office Anna Vartapetyan has repeatedly stated that she periodically reports on the investigation process to the Prime Minister personally.
Therefore, Manukyan continued, she receives instructions from Pashinyan himself. "The situation with the courts is no better, that is, the entire judicial and legal system of the country is under the control of Pashinyan, who has lost control over the situation and is now only busy with bicycle rides," the representative of the movement emphasized, noting at the same time that in any case, the existing problem must be transferred to the legal field.
"I believe that justice will prevail, even after the change of power," Khachik Manukyan summarized.
