ArmInfo. Former Ombudsman of Armenia Arman Tatoyan continues to raise the problems of the residents of the Nerkin Hand community, part of whose territories are occupied by the enemy.
Tatoyan published a video in which he demonstrated the poor quality water that the villagers are forced to drink due to the fact that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces seized the community's drinking water sources.
"Tap water is water from the Tsav River in the village of Nekin Hand. People are forced to use it in the kitchen, for children, and so on. Since September 13, 2022, Azerbaijan has occupied drinking water sources located in the village of Nerkin Hand, causing criminal damage to people," Tatoyan wrote on his Facebook page.
Kapan Mayor Gevorg Parsyan also confirmed that Nerkin Hazhn faces serious security problems in an interview with journalists on September 28 on the sidelines of the chrism ceremony at the Etchmiadzin Cathedral.
Expressing his conviction that the loss of Artsakh is in a certain sense related to the mistakes of the current authorities, he noted the need to change the policy given the loss of Artsakh and the security challenges in Armenia.
Parsyan added that the security problems in the Kapan community are mainly related to the village of Nerkin Khand, which has been surrounded by Azerbaijani troops since September 2022.
"The situation in the village is quite serious for the residents. In September 2022, Azerbaijan occupied 2,700 hectares of Kapan. Arable land, pastures, water sources, and the cemetery of Nerkin Khand are under their control," Parsyan admitted, expressing concern in this regard that the issue of the occupied territories of Armenia is not raised in the negotiations.
