Under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, a working meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states was held in New York. It is held annually on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. As it became known from the photos of the meeting, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan did not participate in the meeting.
As ArmInfo was informed by the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, the ministers exchanged views on the current issues of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly. They also discussed priority areas of UN cooperation with the CSTO. Nurtleu briefed his colleagues on Kazakhstan's stance regarding various aspects of CSTO activities during his current chairmanship in the Organization and shared his vision for the future development of this regional structure.
The ministerial meeting was held in a traditionally friendly atmosphere. The parties confirmed their commitment to further enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation between the CSTO and the universal comprehensive organization. In addition, on the sidelines of the event, the head of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry held bilateral meetings with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, and Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov.
