Armenian weightlifter wins gold at World Championships

ArmInfo. Emma Poghosyan, a member of the Armenian youth weightlifting team, won a gold medal in  the biathlon at the World Championships held in the Spanish city of Leon. This was reported to ArmInfo by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia (MECS).

"In the weight category up to 81 kg, Poghosyan showed a result of 233  kg. In the "clean and jerk" exercise, she won a small gold medal,  holding a barbell weighing 133 kg over her head. In the snatch, Emma  Poghosyan took 5th place with a result of 100 kg," the report says.

Earlier, members of the Armenian youth team Anna Amroyan and  Alexandra Grigoryan won bronze medals.
