ArmInfo. . The Kirants precedent will be extended to the entire state border line. This was stated by  Artur Hovhannisyan, Secretary of the ruling Civil Contract Faction, on September 16, in response to the question of why the approval of the rules of procedure of the Commissions on Delimitation and Demarcation of the state border followed the completion of delimitation in Kirants village, and not vice versa.

"The process of delimitation in Tavush (and it was from this region  that delimitation was initiated at Baku's insistence - ed.) is an  achievement of the Republic of Armenia, as those villages that  remained under the control of the RA Armed Forces, but outside of  Armenia's internationally recognized borders, were the only  legitimate targets for aggression against Armenia. In fact, by  finally delineating the borders, we have eliminated the last risk of  a legitimate attack on the RA. Now we have a clear border that the  residents of Kirants, Baganis and Voskepar are satisfied with," he  said.  Moreover, as the MP pointed out, the delimitation of Kirants  set a precedent for the formation of a regulation, that will be used  along the entire state border line.

Head of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Affairs  Andranik Kocharyan, in his turn, noted that the residents of Kirants  village, whose school is located about 40 meters away from the  border, are now better protected after the delimitation process than  they were before.
