ArmInfo.. Arman Egoyan, Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on European Integration, discussed the assessment made by the Russian Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia regarding the activities of the EU observer mission in Armenia.
"Many of the risks that Armenia faces today could have been mitigated if in September 2022 Yerevan had agreed to the proposal to implement a set of measures to stabilize the situation on the border with Azerbaijan through the CSTO. The discussion was about serious initiatives, including military-technical assistance, sending a monitoring mission, and assistance in training border troops. Unfortunately, the Armenian leadership chose to invite the EU mission, which does not protect the state's borders at all, but under the guise of "monitoring" is engaged in collecting intelligence against Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia," said the Russian Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin in an interview with the socio- political publication "Soyuzniki. CSTO".
"Mr. Kopyrkin is deeply mistaken. He has incorrect information and ideas about the EU observation mission in Armenia. And in general, not all foreign missions in a particular state are involved in collecting intelligence," Egoyan told journalists in parliament on September 5.
