ArmInfo. The regulations on the commissions for delimitation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be sent to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia for consideration, Armenia'S Premier Nikol Pashinyan at a government meeting on September 5.
He noted that it is precisely because the Constitutional Court is considering the document for compliance with the requirements of the Basic Law of the country that its adoption without discussion is explained. If the Constitutional Court makes a positive decision, the issue will be submitted to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia for discussion, during which all comprehensive answers will be given. Pashinyan emphasized that the authorities considered it inappropriate to publicly discuss the issue before the Constitutional Court's decision.
On August 30, the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported that Yerevan and Baku signed a regulation on the joint activities of the border delimitation and demarcation commissions. As noted in the justification for the draft, the regulation presented by the Cabinet of Ministers provides for the regulation of procedural issues between the parties after the subsequent signing of an agreement on the state border. It envisages the organization of delimitation work and the adoption of relevant documents, the preparation of a protocol- description of the crossing of the state border, the preparation of a delimitation map of the appropriate scale, and the work of expert groups. The regulation and documents that will be adopted on its basis will supplement the legal basis for ensuring the full course of delimitation work. The consolidation of the international legal foundations of the state border of Armenia is one of the legal guarantees of security, as well as the inviolability of borders and territorial integrity.
