ArmInfo. Lecturers with opposing views are being dismissed from state universities in Armenia. Human rights activist Ruben Melikyan wrote on his Facebook page. He explained that lecturers Abraham Gasparyan and Menua Soghomonyan have already been dismissed from Yerevan State University (YSU).
The human rights activist pointed out that the main reason for refusing to sign a new contract with the lecturers was the exclusion of their subjects from the curriculum. "The Past" newspaper has also reported about the dismissal of lecturers with opposing views from state educational institutions.
According to the newspaper, alongside loud statements about educational reforms, dozens of lecturers from ESU and Bryusov University have already lost their jobs. At the same time, "The Past" notes that the dismissed lecturers intend to defend their rights through the court. IA ArmInfo tried to find out the reliability of the information and the position of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports regarding the politicization of this issue. However, due to bureaucratic obstacles, it was not feasible to quickly get clarifications from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
