ArmInfo. Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan has been fined 100,000 drams for violations committed during his tenure as chairman of the board of the Civil Contract party in 2019-22.
According to the commission, during 2022, Papikyan failed to comply with the requirement for non-cash payment of all party expenses stipulated by the constitutional law . In particular, in 2022, 11 million 387 thousand drams were withdrawn from the party account through ATMs. The party's office did not specify what exactly the 11.4 million drams were spent on.
The decision to impose a fine was made at a commission meeting on August 16. Papikyan was not present at the commission meeting and did not provide any explanations on the case. The decision can be appealed in accordance with the procedure and within the timeframes established by law.
