ArmInfo. The new Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation Gurgen Arsenyan announced the termination of the powers of the Chairman of the United Labor Party, which he created. He reported this on social media.
Arsenyan recalled that by the decree of the President of the Republic, at the suggestion of the Prime Minister, on August 14, I was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Russia. In this regard, he resigned from his mandate as a member of the National Assembly, and also terminated the powers of the Chairman of the United Labor Party (ULP) and his membership in the party.
Therefore, at this stage of my activity, let me first of all thank the members of the ULP and thousands of its supporters for our joint work for the benefit of building the Motherland.
Since 1988 and up to this day, in the struggle to achieve and strengthen Armenia's independence, I have tried to make my modest contribution to the political and economic development of the country. I consider the period of my 15-year parliamentary activity in the National Assembly to be especially important, when, speaking first as an opposition MP and in recent years as a representative of the government, I tried to contribute to the creation of an effective system of public administration and the establishment of public solidarity and harmony. I express my sincere gratitude to my colleagues from the parliamentary faction for>, - the statement says.
