At the session on August 15, the RA Government gave the go-ahead for the amendments to the law "On Holidays and Memorable Dates" submitted by the deputy of the RA National Assembly from the ruling "Civil Contract" faction Zaruhi Batoyan.
As noted in the justification of the draft law, Fathers' Day will be celebrated in the country annually on June 17. It will be a working day.
A similar holiday is celebrated in a number of countries, including the USA, India, Japan, Germany, etc. The new holiday will be in effect along with Motherhood and Beauty Day, which is celebrated in Armenia on April 7. Fathers' Day, according to the author of the legislative initiative, will help to strengthen the importance of family in the minds of children, and fathers will better understand their role in supporting the family and raising children
