ArmInfo. The focus of this trial is the ARF, specifically, Gerasim Vardanyan and his person as a member of the Supreme Body of the ARF, stated lawyer Sergey Harutyunyan in an interview with journalists on August 13. Today, the criminal court is considering the possibility of extending Vardanyan's arrest. 

According to the lawyer, Vardanyan is under arrest  for another fabricated case. "This particular case involves the well-known recording. Over the past 5-6 years, there have been cases where various video materials and recordings are released in the media, leading to the initiation of criminal cases and the illegal detention of people. Harutyunyan also mentioned that there is an element of personal revenge in relation to Gerasim Vardanyan. 

To recall that Gerasim Vardanyan has been under arrest for 2 months. 

He has been charged under Part 2 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. Specifically, an audio recording was released in which Gerasim Vardanyan is heard giving instructions on how to distribute money for participation in the activities of the "Tavush for the Motherland" movement.
