The Simonyan Educational Foundation will receive a land plot and a building located on it as a gift from the state in the city of Armavir in the region of the same name for the construction of the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies. The decision was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on July 25.
As stated by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia Gnel Sanosyan, according to the agreement reached between the Simonyan Educational Foundation and the head of the Armavir community, within the framework of the Tumo Centers for Creative Technologies charity program, a Tumo center is planned to be created in the Armavir community by 2026. The center is expected to be attended by children aged 12 to 18 - about 3,800 children, specializing in technology and design. The construction of the Tumo center will be carried out through the reconstruction (if necessary, demolition and construction) of the emergency building of the community nursery-kindergarten No. 12, located at the address: Baghramyan Street, 9, Armavir Municipality, Armavir Region, Armenia.
It is planned to invest at least 530 million drams in the construction of the Tumo center.
According to the minister, today there are 5 TUMO centers and 34 TUMO boxes in the republic, which are visited by more than 25,000 teenagers. By the end of the year, it is planned to open temporary branches in Yeghegnadzor in September and in Masis in December. The program has also expanded abroad.
TUMO centers operate in Germany, France, Portugal, Albania, Ukraine, etc. In the near future, centers are expected to open in the Netherlands and the United States.
In turn, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan said that programs for expanding other educational sites, such as COAF smart centers, are also being discussed.
