ArmInfo.Armenia abstained from voting at the UN General Assembly on a draft resolution prepared by Ukraine on the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. Russian media report this.
99 countries out of 192 voted for the adoption of the document, 9 were against, including Belarus, Burundi, North Korea, Cuba, Mali, Nicaragua, Russia, Syria and Eritrea. 60 countries, including Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Vietnam, China, Mexico, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan, abstained from voting. The document is called "Technical and physical safety of nuclear facilities in Ukraine, including the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant", it includes 13 points. One of them demands that the Russian Federation urgently withdraw its military personnel and other unauthorized personnel from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. It is specified that Russian troops must withdraw from the territory of Ukraine "within its internationally recognized borders."
Since October 2022, Zaporozhye NPP has been under the control of Rosenergoatom JSC (a subsidiary of Rosatom).
