ArmInfo.We understand the importance of settling Armenian- Azerbaijani relations, but there must be accountability regarding refugees and preserving cultural heritage.  Chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senator from Maryland Ben Cardin stated during his visit to Armenia as part of a delegation led by US Senator Roger Wicker."And we will continue to keep these issues at the center of our attention", he said.

Senator Cardin emphasized that the visit of the delegation of  American congressmen to Armenia is determined by the intention to  strengthen the partnership. "We are here as your friends. And we see  numerous military challenges," he said, noting that international  assistance in this regard for Armenia is limited. The head of the  Commission also recalled the aggression and ethnic cleansing by  Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh. He noted the intention of the United  States to expand ties with Armenia in the security, economic and  political fields. "And we will try to find ways in which we can  deepen the existing achievements," the senator said, noting that this  partnership is important not only for Armenia and the United States,  but for all democratic countries.
