ArmInfo.Baku has far-reaching ambitions regarding the territory of Armenia, one of the leaders of the movement , MP from the faction Garnik Danielyan noted on his Facebook page.
It is terrible when you see in Shurnukh that Azerbaijan has planted its flag a few meters away and usurped Armenian lands. They make it clear that they want to take over these territories and then go deeper.
In Kirants (Tavush region, ed. note) people are forced to give up cadastral certificates issued to them under the law of the RA in favor of the Republic of Azerbaijan. We do not even know at whose expense these amounts will be issued. We know that the money comes to Armenia by transfer from Azerbaijan," he wrote. Notably, the MP raised the issue of money transfers from Azerbaijan to Armenia several times. On June 13, the head of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia Martin Galstyan stated in parliament that the bank keeps statistics on transfers only for the first 50 major destinations, and Azerbaijan is not on this list. "If they are not there, continuing the logical chain, we can assume that either the amounts are very small, or they do not exist at all", Galstyan noted. He recalled an incident that happened years ago and caused a public outcry. The incident was related to transferring money from Azerbaijan to Armenia. As a result of the study, as the head of the CB noted, it turned out that it is only about one transfer of 30,000 euros, which was sent from Azerbaijan to Armenia by an international organization.
Since 2020 - after the 44-day war in Artsakh, "the new Armenian-Azerbaijani border" cut the village of Shurnukh in the Syunik region almost in half. As a result, more than a dozen houses came to the territory under the control of the Azerbaijani armed forces, at the same time, the Armenian authorities initiated the construction of a new district. The ceremony of handing over new houses in the village of Shurnukh for 13 families took place only on June 16 this year.
On April 19, following the eighth meeting of the state commissions, Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to begin delimitation from the Tavush region and complete the approval of the draft regulation on the joint activities of the delimitation commissions by July 1. Since the evening of the same day, residents of the border villages of Tavush, dissatisfied with the agreements between Yerevan and Baku, held protests, which eventually resulted in the "Tavush for the Motherland" movement. According to the decision of the commissions, Azerbaijan will receive two houses, a bridge, a section of the road towards Georgia and about 50 plots of land.
