In connection with the statement of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on the termination of official relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Belarus, the official delegation of Armenia decided not to travel to Belarus and not to participate in the annual international competition "Slavic Bazaar 2024", which will be held in Belarus from 8 to July 18 this year.
This was announced by the head of the Armenian delegation of the annual international competition "Slavic Bazaar", director of the Yerevan State College of Culture and Art named after Charles Aznavour Vrezh Kirakosyan.
"All the peoples of the world are united by one language - culture, so it is impossible not to appreciate what has been created over the years, namely the Armenian-Belarusian cultural ties. We sincerely hope that the political chaos that has arisen will be resolved in the near future on the basis of love and solidarity and friendly relations between two nations will soon be restored. Let us recall that the representatives of Armenia at the Slavic Bazaar competition this year were the winner of numerous competitions, singer Suzanna Melkonyan and 9-year-old Yana Stepanyan," the message says.
On June 13, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said from the rostrum of parliament that he would never visit Belarus again as long as Alexander Lukashenko is president. He argued his words by the fact that one of the leaders of the CSTO member countries recently stated that during the 44-day war, his country participated, believed and wanted Azerbaijan's victory. "And you want me to go to Belarus after this and discuss issues related to the CSTO with the president of this country?" - asked the RA Prime Minister, noting that Armenia plans to leave the CSTO. After this statement, the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported that Yerevan recalled its ambassador from Belarus for consultations, and the Belarusian Foreign Ministry did the same.
