ArmInfo. "Were the visit of the head of the Yerevan Nor Nork district administration Tigran Ter-Margaryan to the Ukrainian city of Bucha and the statements made during this visit coordinated with the Mayor of Yerevan?", Samvel Hakobyan, an opposition member of the Yerevan Council of Elders from the Mother Armenia faction, asked Tigran Avinyan during today's meeting.
On May 31 of this year, the press service of the Bucha City Council reported that the Armenian Ambassador to Ukraine Vladimir Karapetyan and the head of the Nor Nork administrative district of Yerevan Tigran Ter-Margaryan visited Bucha in the Kiev region. It was noted that during the meeting with local authorities, they discussed cooperation between the Bucha community and the Nor Nork district of Yerevan. The Armenian delegation also handed over humanitarian aid: medicines for secondary medical institutions of the city. "We are proud of the courage of the Ukrainian people, who defend their freedom and independence on the battlefield. The city of Yerevan and the Nor Nork district will always support Bucha and other communities affected by Russian aggression", according to the source, Ter-Margaryan said. The Armenian Foreign Ministry did not officially confirm this information. And Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan even stated that such a visit did not take place.
After the Armenian delegation visited Bucha on June 9, the Russian Foreign Ministry sent a note of protest to their Armenian partners. It was noted that Moscow regards the visit of Armenian representatives to this Ukrainian city, as well as unacceptable statements addressed to Russia and the provision of humanitarian aid to Kiev as an unfriendly step.
A member of the Council of Elders of the Armenian capital emphasized that the visit causes irreparable damage to the security system of the Republic of Armenia, Armenian-Russian relations, which have already suffered "thanks to the efforts of (Prime Minister) Pashinyan." Hakobyan also pointed out that Kyiv has supported and supports "the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh" in every possible way.
Tigran Avinyan noted that the executive body of the capital's administration was formed within the framework of coalition cooperation, as a result of which, among a number of community heads there are representatives of other political forces (Ter-Margaryan is an associate of the chairman of the <pro- Western> <Republic> party of Aram Sargsyan). "If you are wondering whether I am informed (about the visit), then yes. If you are interested in other details and the geopolitical subtext, I think this is beyond the scope of this meeting and this discussion," Avinyan said.
