ArmInfo. The national cuisine festival "Tadi Shorva" will be held on June 29 in the enlarged community of Areni (Vayodzor region). This was announced during a press conference on June 24 by the coordinator for tourism development in Areni, Suzan Margaryan.
She said that in total there will be 50 pavilions on the territory of the festival, where each of the settlements of the enlarged community will present its cuisine, culinary features and traditions. Artsakh cuisine will be presented in a separate pavilion, in particular, traditional Artsakh "zhengyalov hats" will be baked on site. Margaryan noted that after the forced displacement to Armenia, many Artsakh families settled in Areni, who will also take part in the festival under a single pavilion.
It is noteworthy that the features of the national cuisine of this region will be presented through surveys and interviews in 9 settlements that are part of the enlarged Areni community. As a result, it was possible to identify more than 30 types of traditional dishes.
In addition, national crafts will be presented as part of the festival, including carpet weaving, pottery, embroidery, etc. It is also planned to present folk songs, dances, and national games.
However, the main event of the festival will be the preparation of the soup "Tadi Shorva", which, as the coordinator noted, is translated from the dialect as "grandmother's soup". "This will be a delicious rosehip and nettle soup, which we will treat all visitors to the festival," said Margaryan.
