ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan will not attend the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CSTO member states, which will be held on June 21 in Almaty. This was reported in response to an ArmInfo request by spokesperson of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Ani Badalyan.
Notably, today, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said at a briefing that at the meeting of the CSTO Foreign Ministers' Council chaired by Kazakhstan, the ministers of the Organization's member states will exchange views on the state of the international and regional situation, summarize the results of diverse cooperation within the Organization, and discuss mechanisms for strengthening foreign policy coordination. "It is naturally expected that the CSTO Foreign Ministers' Council will approve a number of draft decisions that are submitted for approval by the Collective Security Council during the next session on November 28 of this year," Zakharova added.
Armenia announced the freezing of its membership in the CSTO back in February and refused to pay membership fees against this background. On June 12, the Prime Minister of Armenia announced from the rostrum of the parliament that he does not rule out that Yerevan may leave CSTO in the future.
