ArmInfo.Political consultations were held in Kyiv between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Ukraine. The Armenian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan, and the Ukrainian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Evgen Perebiynis.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, during the consultations a wide range of issues on the bilateral political agenda, as well as cooperation in trade, economic, legal and other areas, were considered.
The interlocutors discussed the prospects for further intensifying cooperation in areas of mutual interest and exchanged views on issues of the international and regional agenda that are of mutual interest. The interlocutors emphasized the importance of consistent contacts between the two countries at different levels and periodic exchanges of views.
The Ukrainian side was informed in detail about the situation in the region due to the aggression of Azerbaijan and the occupation of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, as well as about the efforts of Armenia aimed at resolving relations.
Safaryan informed the Ukrainian delegation about the "Crossroads of Peace" project presented by the government of the Republic of Armenia, aimed at ensuring stability and economic development in the region. The project is based on the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity, reciprocity and equality.
