ArmInfo.Armenia has always behaved as a devoted partner towards Russia, which cannot be said about Russia's attitude towards Armenia. Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan told reporters about this on June 10, answering the question that Moscow often makes statements about Yerevan's unfriendly behavior.
"Armenia, with the naivety of a child, believed and hoped to the last that Russia would not leave it alone, would not "abandon" it and the Armenian people. I apologize for this word, but I cannot help but say it," the speaker said, adding that Moscow deceived Yerevan, leaving her alone.
"I watched with envy as the American fleet, approaching the borders of Israel, shot down missiles falling on this state, as planes took off from Cyprus, helping Israel as an ally. I don't know if Russia was so weak during the 44-day war that allowed the Azerbaijanis to enter and kill our children, was there really not a single ship on the Caspian Sea that would come close to Azerbaijan?" said the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
He said Russia had left Armenia no choice but to try to defend itself on its own. The speaker also noted that Russia allowed a 44-day war in Artsakh. "The Russian Federation has left Armenia no other alternative than to defend itself, and now presenting this experience as an unfriendly attitude is, at a minimum, unfair," Simonyan said.
