ArmInfo.Armenia intends to deepen and expand existing military- technical cooperation with Greece. The Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia issued a positive conclusion on the intergovernmental Armenian-Greek agreement on military-technical cooperation submitted for ratification at its meeting on June 7.
Presenting the document, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Arman Sargsyan noted that the agreement was signed on December 14, 2023 in Athens by the heads of the defense ministries of the two countries - Suren Papikyan and Nikos Dendias. In accordance with the presented document, the main areas of cooperation are defined, including assistance in research of new technologies and military products in order to strengthen defense capability, as well as cooperation in the field of development and production within the framework of the national legislation of the parties. The agreement also includes such important areas of cooperation as technology transfer and technical support in the production of weapons, ammunition and explosives, exchange of information and experience in the field of ammunition production, implementation of research in the field of military products and their production, establishmentof joint ventures for their production. The document also provides for provisions regarding the means of implementing military-technical cooperation, including training of technical personnel, provision of services for the repair and operation of military products manufactured in third countries. In order to implement the agreement and promote cooperation, as Sargsyan noted, it is planned to establish an Armenian-Greek commission.
