ArmInfo. About 280,000 Armenian users' phone data was leaked on the network. This was reported by Armenian cyber security expert Samvel Martirosyan.
"A large database of telephone numbers has leaked onto the network. It contains data of about 280,000 Armenians. Most likely, this is the Getcontact database. What I have been warning about for so many years. There are numbers of many people, where their affiliation with the special services is clearly visible, since one of their friends indicated this in their contacts. We are working against the national security of the nation. Congratulations once again," Martirosyan wrote on his Facebook page.
According to another Facebook user Levon Isajanyan, an unknown person has put up for sale a lot containing 10 million contact details of representatives from different countries.
"The current check that I have conducted shows that the lot contains about 277,000 numbers that belong to mobile codes of Armenia. This probably refers to a pattern similar to the functioning scheme of the get contact application [not confirmed].
Mobile operators are definitely not the cause of this leak. This is already happening due to the lack of digital security hygiene of people," Isajanyan noted, calling for not giving certain applications access to their contacts when downloading them.
