According to the department, based on the information received, a verification of the information immediately began; in parallel, in accordance with the protocol, the patrol police, customs service, border police and all employees of private companies operating at the checkpoint were evacuated to a safe place from the Daryal border checkpoint. According to their explanation, a Border Police helicopter has already taken off to inspect the territory, with employees of the National Environmental Protection Agency and geologists on board. "At the same time, for preventive purposes, the road near the village of Gveleti was blocked. Traffic is limited in both directions for all types of vehicles," the information says.
