ArmInfo.More than 40 representatives of diplomatic corps and international organizations, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan, visited the disaster zone. The latter presented the areas affected by the flood, the extent of the damage and the work being carried out to eliminate the consequences.
According to information from the Unified Information Center of Armenia, the delegation was met by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan and the head of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Kamo Tsutsulyan.
On May 26, a flood occurred in the north of Armenia caused by heavy precipitation, heavy rain and the Debed River overflowing its banks, which led to significant destruction of infrastructure and the death of at least 4 people. The storm damaged roads, bridges and railway lines. Thanks to the efforts of rescuers, 443 citizens were evacuated. In order to eliminate the consequences of the disaster, an operational group was formed under the leadership of the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia Gnel Sanosyan.
